Skiing in Sölden
In Sölden, winter sports enthusiasts, and especially skiers, get their money’s worth. From the Hotel Garni Maria Theresia it’s only a few minutes’ walk to the Giggijoch Valley Station, where you can travel to the ski area at record speed. The Sölden ski area comprises 144 kilometres of slopes, 2 glacier ski areas, 31 modern lifts, 3 accessible three-thousand-metre peaks and well over 30 alpine huts and restaurants - from rustic to upmarket. Once a week you can even experience the fun of skiing at night - at the legendary night skiing event (“Nachtskilauf”). And for those who still can’t get enough - all 6-day ski passes are also valid in the Gurgl ski area, where more kilometres of slopes await. Snow is guaranteed until well into spring, and the season starts on the glacier as early as October.
Book early to save time and money
Our online price system is automated and dynamic. This means that the prices are dependent on various factors such as seasonal period, number of orders, day in the week, and prior data.
In general, those who book early are guaranteed to benefit from the best discount, which can be up to 22%. The discount will shrink over time depending on demand and time – the closer you get to or the more popular your desired date is, the higher the price. Up to five days before the 1st ski pass day, it is always cheaper online than on site.
The cancellation protection upgrade covers the refund of the purchase price of your ski passes up to 5 days before the scheduled 1st ski pass day. Cancellation can be made without giving any reason.
When purchasing a 6-day or more ski pass, entries to the James Bond World 007 ELEMENTS and the Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum are included in the period from Nov 16, 23 to Apr 21, 24.
Winter activities off the slopes
Since 2019, the “Stiegele” toboggan run has offered over 7 km of tobogganing fun, from the Gaislachkogl Middle Station down into the valley. Other toboggan runs can be found at selected alpine huts in the area - such as the Stallwiese Alm on Sölden’s quiet side. A winter hike through woods and meadows up the mountain, and then, after a stop for refreshments, whizzing down into the valley on a toboggan. Cross-country skiing in the Ötztal Valley is also just as sporty and no less idyllic. In Sölden there is a manageable but promising network of cross-country ski trails - that start in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Garni Maria Theresia. There are (high-altitude) cross-country ski trails in Zwieselstein, 5 km away, or heading out of the valley at the Cross-country Centre in Längenfeld. Sölden’s ice skating rink is located at the Gaislachkogl Valley Station - approx. 1.5 km from the accommodation. Perfect for poor weather or as an evening option after a day on the slopes.
